I purchased only one yard of Rush Hour fabric and combined it with the aptly named "aspirin dot" print...always need aspirin for those Rush Hour headaches. The remainder of the black, white and grey fabrics were left from The Ghastlies Hop. And, of course, my Quilts of Valor stash always yields red fabric.
First a divided organizer box:
A bag to rush off to the gym with...."aspirin" print on the back side:
A coffee cup cozy for a strong espresso...lined with Insulbrite to help hold in the heat:
And, finally a ruffled wristlet keychain.
All packed and ready to go:
BUT, as I was carrying this out to her little blue car, I noticed my own little car....
Sorry, Kat, this car organizer kit belongs in my car.
Thank you Carol at Just Let Me Quilt and Madame Sam at Sew We Quilt for making this blog hop possible. Lots of fun.
Please visit the rest of our Rush Hour participants and tell them what you think about their projects.

ReplyDeleteand you made me laugh...GREAT GOING!
What a great project! I don't blame you for sneaking it into your car, but now you will have to make a blue set, lol! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you had your granddaughter jumping with excitement until she read the last. I can see a pretty blue set in her future. Either that or you will never hear the end of it. Very cute set of projects. :)
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I had the opposite experience with my project...made it for me and decided it needs to live with my daughter...lol! Beth @ Words & Stitches, pbstrand@msn.com
ReplyDeleteYes, that needed to go in your car, but agree with the others, you are going to be making another set.
ReplyDeleteI was relating to your story of your granddaughter living in her car. Living in a car has been the story of my life. I was thinking how my grandmother must have thought the same thing about my car when I was in college and how I wish she would have thought to make me an organizing system. Maybe she DID...lol Love it. Your right, it will look fantastic in YOUR car. Maybe it's time to think blue... Thanks for the smiles.
ReplyDeleteLovely set of projects. I agree with everyone here. You'll probably need to make another set or she just might sneak them into her car. lol
ReplyDeleteGorgeous projects, and yes, the organizer kit definitely belongs to your car! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh my word.... a theme, a solution to organization, and it matches your car....I am in AWE....love every piece and you certainly captured the theme of the day...Your grandaugher..oh my what a rushed schedule she has....SHE will no doubt love this ensemble repeated....you may have to consider wink..
ReplyDeleteYOU are a most welcome addition to our hop my sweet...
What a cool organizer set. But now you will have to make one to match her blue car!
ReplyDeleteThat is one cool organizer! If you could see the interior of our truck when we travel! We need one of those!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect travel set...and I do see blue in your future LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection of projects! I understand you keeping the organizer for yourself lol.
ReplyDeletevery nice Barb....car organizer is a great idea

ReplyDeleteThat bag definitely goes with your car and will look great inside. I love the bag and the goodies that you created to go inside...sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea and too felt bad for your granddaughter when I read the last line LOL. Hey, Christmas is coming up!
ReplyDeleteOkay Carol, I have to learn how to make that divided fabric box - maybe you can show me next week? Or do you have a pattern? :) I love every single thing..the wristlet is a wonderful idea and the gym bag is cute, cute, though I don't need that right now - should, but don't. blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteThose are all wonderful projects. I love that divided organizer. I agree....it needs to be in the red car. Now you need to do it all over in blue. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI just love the car organizer, and you can use it to organize other thing to I bet. All you project were great, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, love the car organizer :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a great set for the car! If Kat reads this, you better get started on the blue version!

ReplyDeleteLooks like you'll be making another set of these great goodies for Kat! You'll get a lot of enjoyment and use out of your projects. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou made a lot! Yeah, it really matches your car. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat bag.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bag!
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO! Your ending was totally unexpected. Too funny, but not for Kat.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are great and they fit so nice in your organizer tote. Love all of them.
Love the idea of a divided organizer for the car. I think when your granddaughter sees this you will need to stitch one in a color to match her home-on-wheels. Very creative project ideas.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you noticed your car,it matches the fabrics perfect. Maybe you can do another set for your granddaughter. I think she needs and deserves it. Great job on all your projects. Thanks for sharing and inspiring us.
ReplyDeleteWell, it has to go with the car it mathces. LOL. Great job and congrats on being a pick of the day.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great project to keep the car tidy...it sure is a lot cuter than the basket in my car!
ReplyDeleteAh poor Kat! Is she next in line for that great set of car must haves? They are all fabulous. We all could use them.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Isn't it funny when we are making something for another person and then we realize how much we could really use it? I love how yours turned out and know that if you make one for your very busy granddaughter, she will love it. Thanks for sharing your creations with us today and for being a featured project. :-)
ReplyDeletePerfectly practical organizers and how smart you are to think of your granddaughter and her schedule. Thank you sew very much for sharing and hopping. Creative Rush Hour Bliss...
ReplyDeleteWonderful group of projects perfect for organizing. Well done.
ReplyDeletelovely projects.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to make one for her, right? It's great. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt bag/car bag is perfect. Marlene made one similar so I suppose I will have to get over my fear of making bags (I know...silly) and make one for my Trailblazer. I just cleaned my SUV today and a bag would cut down on the front seat clutter. Trailblazers don't have a lot of console room.
ReplyDeleteNice job!!
Gmama Jane
Great project, and I love that you kept it. Lots of time to make one for Christmas for that wonderful granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when you said you were keeping all these great goodies!! Of course, they match your car much better!!! Now to make a blue set for her for Christmas!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool set of organizers. I have to agree, it does soooo match your car better LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat set of projects!! So impressive that you made all of the projects with just 1 yard of fabric. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh you are so ornery. That was worse than dangling a carrot! But cute and useful projects for you!
ReplyDeleteBetter get busy making another organizer because you did a super job with yours and it sure sounds like Kat needs one BIG TIME!! :) What a busy girl; it's nice to hear that going to school AND working is still in vogue by some.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it is perfect for your car. Make her a blue set for Christmas. A very nice looking tote and great choices for filling it. Thanks for sharing the ideas.
ReplyDeleteBe safe and Blessings
Tonia
Awesome, loved it all!
ReplyDeleteOh I agree--you need to keep this bunch of traveling goodies and make some in blues for the DGD. Sounds like she could use it with her crazy life.
ReplyDeleteNeat tools to keep you organized. Great fun fabric for them.
ReplyDeletelove all your projects and I agree they belong in your car. ;P
ReplyDeleteI like the gym bag. Your sweet Kat will like any of your fabric colors as you surprise her. What a busy gal! She could use one color to grab for her college books, another for her car trash bag in your divided bag (or from a stitch in time ~ http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/home-decor/pretty-trash-bag/110339), and as a "I love you, Gram" bag for her clothes change. You make me smile! How sweet. Kathleen ~ Lane Hill House lanehillhouse[at]centurylink[dot]net
ReplyDeleteAt her age and all the she has going on the bag and its contents will probably be used more by you. Lol
ReplyDeleteIn don't have a rush hour. Don't do lots of car journeys. But I really do need that car organizer. Don't know how I ever did without.....Thank you for showing it of.
ReplyDeleteLove the Organizer Basket and set!! I remember seeing my own daughters cars needing a Organizer box too at the time~ Thanks for sharing such awesome Rush Hour Projects with us!!
ReplyDeleteHuggs, Nancy
Nice projects, I don't know which one I like most, but I had to smile when I saw the pic of your car: RED, so perfect for this hop, LOL
ReplyDeleteWonderful pieces :)
ReplyDeleteOh what cool ideas you had. I am sure you are going to enjoy them. And they match your car beautifully!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you made me LAUGH!!
ReplyDeleteWell, Kat, there's always Christmas!! hahhaa
I know what she's going through so well. My college days sound very familiar, except I had 3 part time jobs to make that 36hrs - but that's the time to do crazy stuff like that, when you're young! Good luck to Kat, and grandma, get on that Christmas gift lol.
Congratulations for today. Your organizer with all its wonderful things is beautiful. You did a wonderful job on it. I love it. Looks like something I should do for my car. Thank you for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI really need to make this organizer box. It is such a WONDERFUL idea.
ReplyDeleteHee hee, good on your daughter for being such a hard worker! Maybe she'll be getting an organizer for Christmas? Thank you for sharing your projects, very inspiring.
